SUMMARY

The Job Templates page should be more user friendly and there should be a way to visually grouping all of them. Currently the Labels in job templates can be used as a tags. But an optional and additional hierarchy organization would be helpful.

It would be nice to organize the templates in the following ways:

  • Hierarchically
  • By groups

I would be happy to provide some test cases!

FYI - Hierarchically - this can be done via the projects tab. Grouping can be done currently by labels.

As @wenottingham said... labels are our current mechanism for organizing job templates

👍 for prioritizing this.
Organizing workflow within projects tabs isn't possible right now and seems to be not the correct way.

Labels is a crutch. I think you should be able to restrict the view by teams, individuals, groups, etc. It is a jumbled mess of job templates otherwise.

i'd love to see a proper hierarchy AND template-searches that can be saved.

It would be even better if we have the ability to organize the templates in a folder view.

Could just combine the 2 options. Have it create "virtual folders" based upon the labels.

This is really needed, or at least a way pin labels - else i end up retyping the search all the time.
This should also be tied to jobs stream - currently if there's a template which runs often it makes it very hard to see anything else that's going on.
Alternatively projects should have their own job view.
