Hi, please try the below In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans. At the top of the page, under "Payment information", click Update payment method. If your account has existing billing information that you want to update, click Edit. Under "Billing information", complete the form, then click Save. |

This is a data privacy issue so I suggest a couple options to fellow users: If you live in a state or country that has consumer privacy laws, submit a data removal request to microsoft here: If you live in a state that doesn't yet have consumer privacy laws, submit a complaint through your state consumer advocacy department. There's often a link on your state web site. |

It is very simple to delete a payment method (if you used your credit card) For PayPal, you can revoke access for GitHub, that means GitHub still stores the PayPal payment method, but has no permission at all to actually make transactions with that. Once you need to use that PayPal again you just need to attach it again to your GitHub, so PayPal will provide GitHub a new permission token. Meanwhile credit card would disappear, PayPal remains displayed. Kinda weird and very unpleasant to have it implemented like that from Microsoft... I hate it. Everytime I use my card at ANY websites I immedieatly search for the option to delete it. |

Same here guys. It's just so so annoying. I don't want to purchase any further services. I already got charged for github co-pilot after my free trial ended, because apparently, I couldn't cancel the subscription on time, since I was getting a server error on github billing & plans page. Later, got caught up in work and forgot that I had to remove it. Tried many times again last night, and encountered the same error. Finally got it removed but now I can't get rid of the billing info. I don't wanna get charged for any other services accidentally. But I'm stuck with this nonsense. I don't see a point in saving such sensitive info without the free will of a user. If any of the GitHub representatives are seeing this, please take this as constructive criticism and look into this issue, because it's just unethical and not worth the hustle. |

@queenofcorgis Any updates? As someone who just wants to sponsor someone with a single gift, I wont be doing it if I have to jump through hoops to remove my card data. I am a bit perplexed to why I cannot just pay without saving my card data? Glad your team heard everyone in June but am disappointed there has not been an update since then... |

Make a Ticket to Customer Support and write this exact message, and they will remove your credit card information within a day. (It worked for me): Dear Customer Support, I live in Europe and as you are aware: "According to the Article 7(3) GDPR, the data subject shall have the right to withdraw his or her consent for the storing of credit card data for the purposes of facilitating further purchases at any time. The withdrawal must be free, simple and as easy for the data subject, as it was to give consent. It must lead to the effective deletion by the controller of credit card data stored for the sole purpose of facilitating further transactions" I withdraw my consent for you to store my information and I wish to remove and confirm by reply that you have deleted my credit card information from my account (your systems). |

I need to delete my credit card information from Github profile, site and everywhere. Please do it, there is no remove button existing at my sight. I never seen a website where you cant delete your personal information.

$100 was gone because of the undeletable payment method and my ignorance of the copilot.There is no any button called 'remove'. Can someone tell me, for now, how to completely remove the payment method?!!! |

Contact the support and they help me refund and remove the payment method. It seems that for now, you have to connect to them to remove it instead of by yourself. |
