Hey @jamesyoungman, thanks so much for reaching out in the Accessibility community! I do understand why the author chose to display code blocks using SVG files but this doesn't make the README accessible. GitHub does have Syntax Highlighting that would allow you to use code blocks while also changing the color and style of your code so that it's easier to read. Check this out to learn more: https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/writing-on-github/working-with-advanced-formatting/creating-and-highlighting-code-blocks#syntax-highlighting. It may help if you use this to essentially re-write one of the code blocks in the README then present that to the author so that they do see that a useable and accessible option is available to them. Good luck and let us know if you have any additional questions! |

Code samples in colour in GitHub Markdown
What's an accessible way to represent terminal output faithfully?
This README.md file: https://github.com/EmbarkStudios/cargo-deny/blob/14b62325878874237163c196c3f15a808073c462/README.md
... uses SVG images to show example terminal output. The author explains that they did this to get the formatting and colour information correct (in their own words: EmbarkStudios/cargo-deny#518 (comment)).
Is there some way I could make a patch for that file which improves its accessibility in a way that the project maintainer is likely to accept and keep?
My question is really, whether there is a more accessible alternative to SVG here which also looks OK to seeing people.
