Why netboot.xyz?

netboot.xyz was created by Antony Messerli in 2015 as an open-source project to make it simple to install the latest version of an Operating System or to be able to load useful Utilities from one source.

Sponsorship will help us:

  • Maintain new versions and changes to Operating Systems installation behavior
  • Add new and future support for new architectures and hardware
  • Maintain and document items related to PXE booting and provisioning
  • Maintain costs associated with running the netboot.xyz services (hosting, fees, etc)
  • Obtain test hardware or infrastrucuture on demand as needed for testing and qualifying new hardware or architectures
  • Develop new features and functionality
