History

My first computer was a TRS-80 with 16KB of RAM and hooked up to the TV. It had no hard drive, but it had a tape drive.

For several years I took a long break from programming and then, in 1999, tried to learn C++. I had no idea what I was doing.

In 2000, I learned web development from books and online tutorials. Then I got my first programming job. 16 years later I learned computer science from more books, YouTube and online courses, and then interviewed at Amazon and got hired!

During my CS studies I created Coding Interview University. It started as just a to-do list and expanded into a huge resource for those who are wanting to get those CS skills and land a job as a software engineer.

Now

The visitors to Coding Interview University are there to skill up, find work, and make their dream come true by either finding their first programming job or progressing their already solid career with a new job.

Some are looking to join the tech giants. Some just want their first chance. But each one is driven and determined, and deserves a chance to prove themselves. Each visitor is a person, a story, and represents a hope and a dream of a new life.
